Do you know tigers are the largest members of the cat family and one of the most charismatic endangered species on the planet?  well, Tigers have a general name (species) called the Panthera tigris. It is an apex predator, more often than not preying on ungulates which include deer, white boar etc.

Bengal tiger and Siberian tiger share quite many similar characteristics even though they do live in different habitat conditions.

The majority of Bengal tigers coat colour are often seen as yellow to light orange coats with brown to black stripes, but their bellies with the sides of their limbs are white. These tigers live in tropical, subtropical, and temperate forests with access to water.

They reach up to 8 to 10 feet in length and up to 525 pounds of weight. They tend to occupy smaller territory. The major threat of the tiger is usually poaching and habitat loss.

It is of no doubt that this cat is seen as one of the largest members of the cat family. They are normally known for their incredible strength, sheer power and eventually their striking striped appearance. Bengal tiger usually grows to bigger sizes as seen above it reaches up to 8 to 10 feet in length and up to 525 pounds of weight.

They are great swimmers

Bengal tigers are lovers of water and are good swimmers. Just like a human as we usually treat ourselves while swimming, this tiger do the same, they enjoy swimming in pools, lakes, and rivers and they can swim for about 4 miles at a time.

Bengal tigers love hunting at night all because they tend to avoid human conflict during the day and also are free to patrol on their territory at nights.

At night a Bengal tiger can take down prey that’s usually as twice as it size but at the end, it chooses prey that’s its size or even smaller just like goat, deer, cattle etc.

They are often seen as a circus animal

Have you ever wondered why mostly Bengal tigers are popularly a circus animal? its simply because its the first animal that’s been trained in the circus act. they are often trained to follow the trainee’s instructions and end up jumping through hoops like rings, climb ladders and perform other activities in other to please the crowd.

Siberian tiger

Siberian tiger is the biggest subspecies of the cat family. It is often found in eastern Russia’s birch forests, though some also exist in China and North Korea, having a length of up to 396 cm (males) and 167 to 182 cm (females).

The majority of Siberian tigers coat colour are often seen as orange colour is actually lighter than that of other tigers and it has wide-spaced brown stripes rather than black, just like the Bengal tiger both tigers has a white belly and also has a white chest. 

Siberian tiger is the heaviest tiger because of the insulating layer of fat that keeps the body temperature warm in the cold climate and it has high tendency to withstand pain, they weigh up to 475 to 660 lbs (males), 303 lbs (females). The major threat of the Siberian tiger is usually Poaching and human hunting.

The second-largest cat is the lion, followed by jaguar before cougar etc.

Mainly found in Russia

About 90% of the Siberian tiger is usually found in eastern Russia, of which the other 10% can be found in china. these tigers can travel up to 1000km from south to north in eastern Russia in search of food.

The only tiger that survives in the snow

The Siberian tiger s the only tiger that can survive In extremely cold (snow) areas.  The tiger has a thick layer of fats that insulates the frame towards warmness loss. Also, the thick dense fur that covers its body tends to keep the animal warm.

Having a stronger vision than human

Just like a human. These tigers have a binocular vision which is exceptionally better than human, particularly at night. the eyes were made to see better at night and this is more reasons why they are good hunters at night. To crown it all their vision is about six times better than that of human beings.

They are great swimmers

Their strong bodies and webbed paw makes the Siberian tigers swim. They are usually capable of swimming in rivers up to about 18 miles stretch in open water. this tigers often use swimming as an advantage in catching its prey underwater. They are often cool in both pools or streams.

My final thought on Bengal tiger vs Siberian tiger

Different discoveries have shown that the Bengal tiger vs Siberian tiger hasn’t really come in contact. So this is what I think will happen when they finally come in contact. Well, its going to be a hard pick because the siberian tiger is bigger and more powerful while the bengal tiger is faster and more skillful when its been threatened. But i will go for the siberian tiger because it has more tendency to withstand injuries than the bengal tiger.
