A woman in Sarasota, Florida set a live raccoon on fire and recorded it in a series of viral videos for the social media app Snapchat.
She and a colleague apparently heard the raccoon in the dumpster near work, calmly doing its own thing while it peacefully scrounged for food.
In a second video, she shows the dumpster actively on fire and says “We just toasted his ass; who’s hungry?”
Then she zooms in the camera to proudly show the dead animal’s charred remains.

The Florida state attorney’s office released a press statement that further detailed: “Within a few hours, a separate surveillance system revealed Ms. Kincheloe taking the burnt raccoon from the dumpster and disposing of the evidence.”
Authorities have since charged her with animal abuse, and a jury found her guilty. The judge has not yet determined what her sentence will be – but it is clear this woman needs intensive psychotherapy to address whatever led her to commit such a heinous and cruel crime.
Sign the petition to urge Florida authorities to mandate this raccoon-killing woman undergo intensive psychotherapy in order to prevent future harm to other animals!
What you can do
Support ‘Fighting for Wildlife’ by donating as little as $1 – It only takes a minute. Thank you.
Fighting for Wildlife supports approved wildlife conservation organizations, which spend at least 80 percent of the money they raise on actual fieldwork, rather than administration and fundraising. When making a donation you can designate for which type of initiative it should be used – wildlife, oceans, forests or climate.
