Alabai dogs are slightly longer than tall they have muscular powerful bodies and a wide large chest that gives them an intimidating appearance.

3 Alabai make excellent dogs for the right family

With the right family who knows how to properly care for them, Alabai dogs are loyal and protective and will never back down.
If their family or loved ones are in danger they’re also known to keep their owner’s property safe from any intruders and unwanted visitors.
While they are aloof and reserved towards strangers these dogs are actually affectionate and loving when it comes to their family at home, these dogs are calm and quiet.
Though they will bark if a stranger is approaching your house, despite not being overly clingy alibi dogs will still need time love, and affection from their owners.
They won’t be too energetic inside the house although they will still follow you wherever you go
These dogs are also known for their great endurance making them excellent choices for farms and ranches with livestock since they are capable of protecting them from large predators and wild animals.
But because Alabai dogs are naturally wary of strangers they will take a while to welcome new people.
Early socialization and proper training will help them become more accepting of new people and it will also allow them to behave well during unfamiliar situations

4. Alabai dogs can get along well with children and other pets in the house

Despite being big and intimidating, Alabai dogs actually make great playmates for children especially those that they consider as part of their pack.
However, they may be reserved towards visiting playmates when it comes to other dogs and cats in the house.
They will most often get along well with them as well however as with all dog breeds, it is still essential that any interaction between a dog and child or other animals is closely supervised.

5. Alibi dogs require minimal grooming
When it comes to grooming you won’t have a problem with these dogs, every week they will only need one or twice of brushing, bathing should only be done when they get really dirty.
They also shed heavily once a year usually during spring or early summer during these times you may need to brush them more often.
Their nails tend to grow fast so it is important that their nails are clipped regularly about once or twice a month.
If you’re still new to this and are scared that you might hurt your dog in the process you may ask for a professional groomer’s help.
In addition, their ears should also be checked regularly to avoid buildup of wax and debris, their teeth should also be brushed at a minimum of thrice per week this is important to prevent bacteria and tartar buildup

7. Alabai dogs enjoy a good amount of exercise

Although they are not highly energetic dogs, Alabai enjoys daily walks with their owners in fact they have good endurance and stamina for walking.

If you have a yard make sure that it is securely fenced as well because of its thick fur, this breed is also capable of surviving extreme weather both hot and cold.
That said this breed will make a great companion for long hikes as well

These dogs are known to be very healthy, however because of their huge size they may still be prone to certain health conditions including hip and elbow dysplasia.
