New YorkVictoria Scone, the first cisgender female drag queen to compete on a RuPaul’s Drag Race series—appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World—is surrounding herself with frisky felines in a new PETA message to remind animal guardians to “get that kitty fixed.”

“I never thought I’d say this, but too much pussy can be a bad thing. Cats can start reproducing at just 4 months old and can have three litters of kittens in just one year,” says Scone. “I’m happy to join my friends at PETA to remind everyone that the suffering and deaths of homeless cats is 100% preventable through spaying or neutering your kitty girl or boy.”

PETA points out that many animal shelters—under pressure to keep statistics appealing—refuse to accept cats altogether, leaving the most vulnerable animals with nowhere to go. Many end up abandoned on the streets, where they continue to reproduce, are often hit by cars, are injured, are infected with diseases, are tortured and killed by cruel people and wreak havoc on native wildlife populations. That’s why PETA urges shelters to accept all animals in need and promote mandatory spay and neuter requirements for all companion animals.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org, listen to The PETA Podcast, or follow the group on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, or Instagram.
