Urge These Resorts to Stop Offering Cruel Dolphin Experiences!

[ad_1]

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

At a time when the public’s taste for confined-animal experiences has soured, it’s hard to believe that any business would want to tarnish its name by partnering with abusive companies like Dolphin Connection and Dolphin Quest. Yet that’s exactly what some resorts in Florida and Hawaii are doing, and we need your help to show them that the public doesn’t support animal abuse.

Dolphins are naturally talkative, social animals who communicate with each other by using complex vocalizations. In nature, they swim vast distances every day in the beautiful open ocean. Confining them to small lagoons where they can’t escape attacks from other frustrated animals, forcing them to perform tricks for the purpose of entertaining humans, and subjecting them to intrusive, stressful interactions with the public is a form of speciesism—a human-supremacist worldview.

Some dolphins used for these encounters were violently captured in their homes and torn away from their families before being taken to watery prisons where uninformed tourists falsely believe that their “smiles” indicate happiness. Others were bred in confinement and have never experienced the joy of swimming in the open ocean.

Please urge Hawks Cay Resort, The Kahala Hotel & Resort, and Hilton Waikoloa Village to stop offering cruel “swim with dolphins” encounters and to not permit the breeding or acquisition of more animals on their premises.
